Carl Icahn Resigns from Yahoo’s Board of Directors

Carl Icahn, the famed hard-nosed billionaire and corporate raider who attempted to seize control of Yahoo after the company rejected Microsoft’s $50+ billion acquisition offer , has resigned his position as a member of the Yahoo Board of Directors, according to several reports. In May 2008, he shook the company started by Jerry Yang (who was CEO at the time) by nominating a “dissident slate” of directors, which would have essentially given him control of the company.
