Review by for Gamo P-23 Air Pistol
Rating:
I got the pistol for x-mas and it is great but the trigger gets stuck somtimes. I find the trigger pull is a little too much. Also I think that the pistol is more accurate with the beeman hollow point .177 calaber pelit than with a BB. but it is still a great gun from Gamo!

I have had mine for a couple of years, and after reading the reviews of others, I have to take exception to everyones knocking the accuracy of this little gun. Mine, strait out of the box, has been nothing short of a champ. Using the Gamo gold pellets, I have taken several tree rats, blue jays, and the occasional crow. Out to 20 yards or so, I can hit anything I can see. I have even blasted small gecko’s off my fence with it.
I must say though, I have never shot BB’s through my pistol, as I know what they will do to a rifled barrel. They beat out the rifleings, making the accuracy iffy over time.As for the stiff double action trigger pull, Big Deal! It will make you a more patient, and better shot in the long run! Take your time, dont forget to breath! And squeeze, dont jerk!

I own two of these air guns. I find then to be an excellent value. They are fun plinking guns. They will fire bb’s as fast as you can pull the trigger, But if you want to shoot pellets, each pellet MUST be loaded individually. They have a nice weight and good feel to the gun. To load this gun, it opens from the top. The CO2 cylinder is in the handle.

I’ve had my Gamo P-23 for about seven years. It has ample power and for an air pistol , the accuracy isn’t bad at all. Good for small varmits. I recently found another use for it. Any pesky flies in the house (making sure it is unloaded of bbs or pellets) a blast of co2 will make short work of them from two or three feet away and is fun.

At 25′ the p-23 shoots all over my 5.5×5.5″ cone trap (yes, I’m using my cone trap) since the p-23 only takes lead round balls (bbs.) I can’t get any accuracy. Also, the pressure feeder spring looks awfully thin, probabbly won’t last, maybe that’s the reason that sometimes it shoots blanks. To load round balls, you have release the barrel chamber and hold it, otherwise it will come down while you’re trying to feed the balls in to its port. It takes 12 but I only feed 10 trying to spare the feeder spring. It also takes pellets (.177) as a single shot. Upside, I was able to get over 100 shots/co2 before the velocity dropped. This pistol as other Gamo’s, is mostly made of metal. Loooks good, feel good, but shoots bad. Take a look at the Daisy Powerline 15xtp bb pistol, it has more power and accuracy for alot less, and takes regular bbs.

This bottle comes in a little cardboard box, The lid came loose and leaked. Be aware that this stuff can be messy.
I use this for my crosman 2240 pistol. I put a drop on the CO2 cartridge tip to lubricate the seals in the gun.

Rating:
Personally I prefer a heavier spring oil, and a lighter air chamber oil, but this works great as an all around oil. It gets a tad sticky after a while but no more than expected.
Review by Anthony W. Waggoner for Gamo Air Gun Oil
Rating:
Not for piston seals on spring-piston guns.
Will diesel inside the compression chamber, creating smoke and possibly damaging the piston seal.
Good for pretty much all other seals though. Won’t harm synthetic O-rings etc.
For lubing compression chambers you need a silicone-lube.

This is some of the best oil you can get it works great and for such a small bottle it lasts for ever. I highly recomend this to anyone looking for oil/ lube for ther pellet gun, bb gun, or even airsoft gun.
