If Kobe Bryant were a badminton player, he'd probably be using the NanoSpeed 9000. Why? It matches his basketball uniform quite well. Whether or not the resemblance in colors was intentional or not we're not sure. But what we can say is this: the 9000 will one day be a legend.

Yes, it's that good. That's saying alot considering Yonex makes alot, and I mean ALOT of nice rackets. But for sure, this 9000 series has a special quality that has won over many players of all levels. Add some feel good t

The specs listed here are completely at odds with those listed in the Yonex catalog and website. The Mp5 is has an aluminum frame (head) and steel shaft. That’s why it’s weight is rated U (95.0-99.9g). It’s also undoubtedly why the shaft is rated as stiff, again, completely at odds with the specs listed here. Lastly, I find it highly doubtful that any intermediate player (whoever that description is meant for) would waste their time with this racket.

Both of these are factors in why this is a poor choice for anyone as a racket. A newer player is most likely not going to be able to get enough speed and strength into their swing to properly flex a stiff racket; consequently most people suggest a medium flex racket for beginners. The extra weight isn’t going to help newer players either; they’re already going to have a harder time with most shots; having a heavier racket than other players will only put them at more of a disadvantage. Against other more experienced players, even 10 grams can make a big difference.

Last but not least is the matter of price. If you look around, you can get a graphite shaft/head racket for $30. It might not be a Yonex, but it will be better than this poor excuse for a racket. Beginners should consider shelling out a bit of extra cash for a semi-decent racket. It doesn’t have to be top of the line, but chances are you’ll be playing with it for a while so saving an extra $20-40 probably won’t be worth it for the most part, especially if you end up buying this sad little racket.

The racquet itself was nice. A little heavy, but useful for developing speed + strength.
Smashes are solid. Good racquet for it’s price.

Look up accurate specs on Yonex website.

This is not a graphite racket. It is a steel shaft and maybe an aluminum head. It is heavy because of its steel shaft and aluminum head. This can be a beginners racket if they want to train with a heavy racket to build up their wrist muscle and swing speed. It is also good for beginning if they hit the floor or other people’s racket often which will not break this racket easy.

Other than those two uses I don’t think it is a fit for any beginners or any type of player at all. I was planning to use this as a backup racket thinking it is graphite but ended up looking for another racket as a backup. Very heavy and slow racket to play with.
