Organic Mattress Pad
Buying something organic has gone beyond personal choice into something of a shared global responsibility. Organic wool is known for its durability, the largest producers currently being New Zealand and Australia. It also regulates temperature, keeping the body cool during hot seasons and warm during the cold seasons. Organic wool, like organic cotton, allows the skin to breathe by absorbing moisture during the night and releasing it during the day.
Both the cotton and wool organic mattress pad, besides serving its basic function of providing comfort also protects you from the negative effects of your non-organic mattress base by acting as a protective barrier.
Some mattress pads are designed to protect the bottom layer from absorbing liquids and they are usually used for infants or individuals with urinary incontinence. An organic mattress pad made out of natural latex and covered with organic cotton is more breathable and comfortable to sleep on.
