Tank terbaru Jepang, baru-baru ini (8/2/08), diperkenalkan kepada media oleh Angkatan Darat Pasukan Beladiri Jepang, Japanese Self-Defence Force (JSDF) di Sagamihara, di dekat Tokyo. Tank yang dikembangkan oleh Technical Research and Development Institute tersebut belum diberi nama maupun kode serinya (menurut Associate Press), melainkan hanya dipertunjukan kemampuannya kepada media.
