Kanker payudara adalah penyebab kematian kedua terbesar di Indonesia setelah kanker leher rahim (kanker serviks).

Menurut data dari Rumah Sakit Kanker Dharmais terdapat 126 kasus kanker payudara dari tiap 100.000 populasi wanita.

Gejala Kanker Payudara

Untuk itu sebagai wanita Anda harus mengetahui gejala-gejala kanker payudara. Segera periksakan diri ke dokter yang tepat jika Anda menemui gejala berikut.

• Benjolan di payudara
  Jangan menyepelekan benjolan yang terdapat di payudara sekecil apapun itu. Umumnya, benjolan tidak terasa sakit dan ukurannya hanya sebesar kacang tanah. Tetapi, jika benjolan tersebut merupakan kanker lama-kelamaan ukurannya akan membesar. Lakukan pemeriksaan payudara sendiri (SADARI) secara teratur. Jika ada benjolan yang mencurigakan segera periksa ke dokter.
• Perubahan bentuk dan warna pada puting
  Jika ada perubahan bentuk atau warna pada puting susu, Anda juga harus lebih waspada. Biasanya pada pasien kanker payudara puting tertarik ke dalam (retraksi), berwarna merah atau kecoklatan. Keadaan kulit pun mengkerut seperti kulit jeruk.
• Keluar darah dari puting
  Salah satu gejala kanker payudara adalah keluarnya darah dari puting. Warnanya pun tidak selalu merah bisa juga agak kecoklatan. Untuk itu jika puting mengeluarkan cairan berwarna, segeralah konsultasi ke dokter.
• Pembesaran kelenjar getah bening
  Pembesaran atau pembangkakan kelenjar getah bening juga salah satu gejala kanker payudara. Jika Anda menemui pembesaran getah bening di ketiak, bengkak pada lengan sebaiknya segera diperiksakan ke dokter.

Ingatlah bahwa Anda yang paling tahu keadaan tubuh Anda. Jika ada perubahan dan Anda mencurigainya jangan tunda untuk segera berkonsultasi dengan dokter. Penanganan yang lebih cepat bisa mengurangi risiko kematian.
