Your furniture & equipments location in your house can boost your weight increase! Do you believe it?
Sofa: this is the most potential furniture to make you lazy to move around. Soft and comfortable sofa & its pillows will make the owner keep sitting or lying on it and reluctant to move from it.
Researcher have found that soft sofa will make our body fats comfortable as well, at least 350 calories can be burned if the sofa is not soft & have many pillows .
So, the solution is, get rid get rid those comfortable blanket! Put the remote control in the drawer, put the phone in the corner, and basically put your things all around the house to maximize your body movement. Do your best to move your body to burn those calories.
Curtain: Human likes to eat in a subdued lighted room. In less /soft lighted place, the visual signal is decreased & we are more permissive in everything. So, maximize the lighting of every room. Open the curtains put the light on, change the light bulb with brighter one, anything to make you more alert in everything (including body shape).
TV: Do you usually to eat in front of TV? Reduce this kind of activity right now! Since whenever your attention is focused to other things, the amount of food you consumed is not controlled. Our brain can not send a signal that your stomach is full when you not focus on the food. See how easy a big bag of potato chip have gone into your mouth when you are watching TV. Shut the TV off during the meal & do your best to eat on the dining table, in order to let your mind focus on the meal not on other things.
Snacks: Check its presence in your family room’s table. Is there any snacks waiting for being consumed? Get rid all snacks from family room, to prevent you eat it.
Desk: Although it should be build to be a comfortable one, very comfortable desk also will makes you lazy to move from it. Do your best to stretch your body at least once in an hour, in order to prevent your body from being lazy.
Bed room: Wrongly chosen beds also have their share to trigger your weight increase. Researches have found that lack of sleep tend to increase weight. The reason is your appetite’s regulating hormones don’t work properly. Invest a stiff bed & put away all things that could disturb your rest (bills, food, TV & other thing which can keep you awake).
Mirror: Try not to put mirror in the room. A research from McMaster University Canada found that women are tend to lose focus and less motivated when they see themselves in the mirror doing exercise. However when the mirror was put in the dining room, they are tend to lose appetite.
Body weight scale: According to report publish by Brown University; women who measure their weight regularly are more likely to keep their ideal body weight.
Food cupboard: do you keep your favourite food or snack at the front lower side of the cupboard? If you want to lose some weight, it is suggested to move your favourite food or snacks to the back upper side of the cupboard. It is important to reduce the temptation to eat your food. Keep only low fat and nutritious food at the front lower side of your food cupboard.
Refrigerator: use aluminium wrap, blurry box or paper wrap inside the food box to keep your less healthy food. You will reduce the temptation to eat your food when you don’t see it. If you have less healthy food with lot of fat, like birthday cake or chocolate keep it in the freezer or give it to someone else. Add more supplies of fruits, vegetables, low fat yoghurt, cheese and low fat milk. The researchers stated that consuming fresh, natural and low fat food could be helpful in reducing body weight.
The same rule also applied with cold soft drinks. Do you always keep cold carbonated soft drinks in your refrigerator? Avoid instant sugary drinks, even if it’s for diet purpose. Studies showed those who drink diet sodas tend to put more weight, because the desire to fulfil the needs for soda in their body is not fulfilled.
Dining room decoration colours: There is a reason why in Italian restaurants the tablecloths are usually red & white chequered pattern, and also why fast food restaurants usually decorated their dining area with red or orange colour. These colours could stimulate someone’s appetite. To decorate your dining room so you could control your appetite it is suggested to use blue or sage green colour.
