New Raptor Performance Ballistic Alloy, the first non-lead Alloy Airgun Ammunition that increases velocity up to 25% over lead, while maintaining “match grade” accuracy. Specifically designed as a hunting load, the new P.B.A.™ enables airguns which normally shoot 1000 f.p.s. to shoot up to 1200 f.p.s., with tremendous penetration. In fact, the ammunition is 50% harder than lead causing penetration to be enhanced by up to 100% in tests in actual hunting situations as well as ballistic mediu

Using them to shoot squirels (tree rats). Did not get in-out penetration. Tips rounded, not pointed. Higher velocity, but I seriously doubt anywhere near 25% they claim. Don’t know if they’re worth the extra cost for short range (about 50 feet or less). Better than Gamo magnum, but not much at the range I’m shooting.

This PBA is excelent IF your using them for hunting. If your using to practice shooting (or match) I would recomend using a cheaper heaver (lead) pellet. I seem to get about .50″ difference in accuracy between the “PBA” and the Gamo “Rocket” pellets.

    PBA Raptor 1.25 C/C @ 30 yards.

    Gamo Rockets .75 C/C @ the same.

Keep in mind that every gun shoots different and those PBA’s may shoot better for you. Regardless I will always keep a tin of the PBA around for those pesky little critters!!

I have paid thousands of dollars for the damage the squirrels have done to our house. So I purchased an air rifle with the PBA .177 Gamo pellets, and at present have 16 squirrels and everyone was a through and through shot. I could hardly believe it because I was judging by my childhood air rifle which did good to make it through one side of a coke can.

I really like the idea of a non-lead lightweight pellet. I shot the PBA from a GAMO Viper at a target placed at 20M. The pellets seemed to group less consistently than say their GAMO Match pellets. The quality is good and smooth fit into the breach is about 99% consistent.

Please understand this. Different pellet designs not only weigh different, but are shaped different. I find that if you zero in your gun with one type of pellet, your groups and point of impact will change slightly with every new type of pellet you shoot with even if it’s ever so slightly. The PBA pellets I tried were no different. For me, they impacted the target high and slightly right of where I normally would impact a given target. The groups were all slightly larger than the pellets I normally shoot. As advertised, your fps will improve, perhaps at a slight cost of accuracy. I’m still going to shoot with them from time to time because of the “22LR” like “Crack” they make when they break the sound barrier!

I bought some of these from a local store for about 6$ if you work it out it comes out as 6 cents per shot for somthing weaker than a .22 cal worth 3 cents a shot and I am using a 1000fps winchester breakbarrel rifel and I must say they are faster but not 25% but if you’re wanting to hunt get some GAMO rockets their good inpact makes up for their lack of penetration.
