    The Soviet T-72 tank went into production in 1971 and was designed as a mass production tank to complement in service much more complicated and advance T-64 tank (which was never exported) in service with Soviet Army and for export. 
    Production of T-72 and its variants ended several years ago with over 20,000 built at four Soviet plants as well in Poland, Czechoslovakia and T-72M1 in India and Iraq.

    The U.S. M4A1 Sherman was the most produced battle tank in WWII. Many variants were designed and manufactured to increase their effectiveness against German Panzer divisions. The M4A1 was quick, highly maneuverable, simple to maintain and was equipped with a 75MM gun.
