Ada banyak alasan untuk pindah web hosting, tetapi mungkin Anda bertemu dengan keadaan ini. Masalahnya, bagaimana jika blog WordPress Anda sudah mapan? Anda tidak ingin memulai lagi dengan konten, komentar, dan pengguna terdaftar butuh waktu lama untuk menyelesaikannya.
Memindahkan WordPress bukan hal yang terlalu sulit, selama Anda mau meluangkan waktu Anda dan mengikuti langkah-langkah yang diperlukan:
- Gunakan phpMyAdmin untuk mengekspor database di hosting lamadan menyimpan backupnya di komputer Anda. Caranya, gunakan PhpMyAdmin. Control panel hosting Anda biasanya memiliki link ke phpMyAdmin. Buka dan klik pada Databases, lalu pada database WordPress Anda. Klik pada tab Ekspor. Gulir ke bawah dan klik pada "Save As A File" centang kotaknya. Pilih metode kompresi, atau memilih tidak sama sekali. Lalu klik Go. File download ke komputer Anda.
- Berikutnya, jika Anda tetap menggunakan URL yang sama karena Anda hanya mentransfer nama domain Anda ke server lain, abaikan langkah ini. Jika tidak, pada hosting lama Anda, navigasikan ke dashboard WordPress, dibawah Settings, rubah blog dan WordPress ke alamat URL yang akan Anda gunakan pada hosting baru Anda. Save, lalu kembali ke phpMyAdmin dan ekspor database lagi ke lokasi yang terpisah, mengikuti langkah-langkah di atas. Sekarang Anda memiliki backup untuk situs lama Anda, dan backup untuk situs baru Anda.
- Pada hosting baru Anda, Install WordPress Anda. Menggunakan Fantastico, klik di WordPress dan ikuti langkah-langkah untuk menginstalnya. Setelah ini dilakukan, navigasikan ke phpMyAdmin dengan menggunakan control panel di hosting baru Anda, dan buka database yang baru Anda buat. Klik tab Impor, kemudian klik Browse untuk mencari backup yang dijelaskan di nomor satu di komputer Anda. Jika Anda mengubah URL, pastikan Anda sudah mengimpor database yang benar. Jika file cadangan dikompresi, phpMyAdmin akan mengenali bahwa dan secara otomatis uncompress file untuk Anda.
- Periksa untuk memastikan instalasi WordPress baru Anda beroperasi dengan benar.
